MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Twelve confirmed additional cases of monkey pox have been reported in the country.
According to the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), this brings to twenty-two number of confirmed cases in the country.
The cases were reported from Sinoe, Nimba, Grand Bassa, Margibi and Lofa Counties respectively.
Speaking during a press conference Thursday, November 14,2024, NPHIL Director General Dr. Dougbeh Nyan disclosed that since the outbreak of the monkey pox virus, Liberia has had nineteen recoveries and zero death.
He attributed the increase of cases to recoveries, and zero death to the strong surveillance measures put in place by National Public Health Institute of Liberia.
The NPHIL Director admonished citizens to remain calm and follow all preventive measures, as the NPHIL is working to ensure that the spread of the virus is curtailed.
