MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Cassava Sector Coordinating Committee of Liberia has lauded the Government of Liberia for the introduction of the cluster cassava farming in the country.
Cluster cassava farming is the grouping together of farmers with adjacent lands to cultivate the same crop over a large area.
The initiative is aimed at increasing cassava productions across the country and ensuring the consistent flow of raw materials to processing centers.
Speaking in an ELBC interview on Thursday, November 21,2024, in Paynesville City, the National Coordinator of the Cassava Sector of Liberia, Joseph Morris, disclosed that over three hundred hectares of land has been cultivated under the cluster arrangement.
Mr. Morris also named Bong, Cape Mount, Margibi and Montserrado Counties as areas poised to benefit from the cluster farming program.
Meanwhile, the organization is expected to hold a one-day major sector meeting to discuss the Green Day report National Agriculture Fare scheduled for December this year.
