MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Morocco has pledged its unwavering support to Liberia’s candidacy for a Non-Permanent Seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term.
On September 27, last year, Liberia formally launched its campaign to obtain a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
Since the launch, Liberia’s candidacy has continued to gather massive support, evidenced by the endorsement of its bid by ECOWAS and the African Union (AU).
A Foreign Ministry dispatch says Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, pledged his country’s commitment to Liberia’s bid recently during the signing of fifteen landmark agreements between the two Countries.
Minister Bourita also praised the alignment of the two nations’ developmental goals, while emphasizing the importance of exploring new opportunities for economic growth and cooperation.
Minister Bourita affirmed Morocco’s commitment to innovative partnerships and sustainable investments that could transform the economic landscapes of both nations and extend benefits to the broader Mano River Union region.
