MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The WASH Commission has temporarily reopened the Liberia Bottling Juice and Water Corporation, producer of Bravo Mineral Water.
The Commission shut down the company last December due to the company’s failure to comply with safety measures.
Speaking at the reopening program on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Caldwell, the Executive Officer of the WASH Commission, George Yarngo, said:” The company has begun implementing some of the measures instituted by the Commission. The company has upgraded its laboratory, enforced pest control and testing protocol as well as improved the hygiene condition of the company’s environment.”
He said the company will be fully opened in three months, provided it complies with the regulations.
Meanwhile, the company has begun destroying over twenty-nine thousand sacs of bottled water.
It followed stringent actions taken against the company by the WASH Commission to ensure the safety of customers.
The Commission said the bottled water was produced in an unsafe and unhealthy environment, and as such, it should be recalled from the market and destroyed.
Chief Executive Officer Yarngo said the reopening of the company indicates that the water is now safe for drinking.
At the same time, the owner of the company Giorgio Haddad apologized to the public for the actions of his company and vowed to continually implement all regulations instituted by the WASH Commission to ensure the safety of the public.
