Liberia’s Defense Ministry Unveils Armed Forces Day, February 11, Activities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Defense Ministry has unveiled a series of activities leading to the annual Armed Forces Day celebration, scheduled to take place on February 11, this year.

According to the itinerary, a Jummat Service is due to take place on Friday, February 7, at the Fish Market Mosque in Oldest Congo Town.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, scheduled activities include a Clean-Up Campaign from Crown Hill to Snapper Hill, and a medical outreach in Gaya Hill, Bomi County.

The day will also feature a sports tournament at the Barclay Training Center, with teams from various sectors, including the joint security forces and local banks.

The Defense Ministry says the celebratory events will continue with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, February 9, at the Effort Baptist Church in Paynesville.

The official celebration of the Armed Forces Day will kick off on Tuesday Frederick 11, at the Barclay Training Center in Monrovia.

According to the Defense Ministry, this year’s theme will focus on “Sustaining Peace and Security through Stakeholders Engagement: The Role of the Armed Forces of Liberia.

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone’s President and Commander-In-Chief, Julius Maada Bio, is expected to deliver the keynote address at the official event.
