MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai wants citizens, including local county authorities, to forge a new path in the development process of the country.

President Boakai said:” Forging a new path is pivotal to driving change and meeting the needs and aspirations of the Liberian people.”

The President’s message was delivered by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Sylvester Grigsby, during the presentation of fifteen TOYOTA vehicles to county superintendents on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in Monrovia.

Minister Grigsby said:” The donated vehicles, which is part of the Government’s decentralization efforts, are geared towards enhancing the productivity of the respective counties.”

Minister Grigsby also urged the beneficiaries to use the vehicles for the implementation of the government’s programs and policies aimed at improving the lives of the people.

In response, the Chairperson of the Superintendent Council of Liberia, Kou Gono, lauded President Boakai for the initiative.

Madam Gono believes the move by the Liberian Leader will ease the mobility constraints faced by the superintendents across the country.

She said the vehicles will go a long way in addressing critical challenges that have impeded the development of the counties over the years.

The Nimba County Superintendent, on behalf of her colleagues, pledged their commitment to being a major partner in achieving the government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

She, however, called on the National Legislature for the speedy passage of the amended Local Government Act to enable function effectively.
