MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia National Police (LNP) is investigating a Chinese National identified as Michael Sio, for an alleged brutal assault on a young Liberian citizen named Momoh Davis in the Congo Town area.

According to Deputy Police Inspector Simeon Frank 103, Michael Sio is currently in Police custody along with his lawyers and is currently undergoing an investigation

He has however described the actions of the Chinese National who allegedly poured hot oil on his victim as barbaric… and taking the law into his own hands.

Lawyers of the Chinese National in defense of their client are claiming Davis had attempted to steal solar lights from the compound of the Chinese Businessman but did not present evidence to back the claims.

The Deputy Police inspector also disclosed that the LNP has launched an investigation into the case and the perpetrator, if guilty, will be charged and forwarded to court for prosecution.

He said the law would take its course and the outcome of the investigation would be made open to the public

The victim Momoh Davies is expected to be discharged today from the ELWA Hospital where he was taken to seek treatment after reportedly receiving severe injuries.
