MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Mansion has announced the suspension of all officials of government who failed to declare their assets within the stipulated timeframe.
The action, which takes immediate effect, follows President Boakai’s November 27, 2024 directive granting a ten-day grace period for compliance.
The release says as part of this directive, all suspended officials have been asked to immediately turn over the government assets to compliant heads of agencies, their designees, or authorized personnel within their respective institutions.
President Boakai, in the release, reminded public officials that asset declaration is not only a legal obligation but a fundamental measure to promote transparency and restore public trust in government institutions.
Meanwhile, President Joseph Boakai has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uphold the rule of law, good governance, integrity, and accountability.
Meanwhile, President Boakai has suspended for a time indefinite, the Deputy Director General for Administration at the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), Dr. Adams Lincoln.
Dr. Lincoln was suspended on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, without pay and benefits, pending the outcome of an investigation by NPHIL’s Board of Directors and the General Services Agency (GSA), along with the Liberia National Police.
An Executive Mansion release said the decision followed a review of allegations regarding the unauthorized removal and illegal selling of eleven vehicles of NPHIL.
According to the release, Dr. Lincoln has been asked to turn over all institutional assets in his possession to the NPHIL Acting Deputy Director General for Administration, Mohammad Kiadii.
Meanwhile, President Joseph Boakai has recommitted his administration’s commitment to fostering transparency, accountability, and good governance in all public institutions.
At the same time, the Unity Party (UP) is urging the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) to fast-track efforts in the government’s fight against corruption in the public space.
The Party reminded the LACC Boss to review several audit reports highlighting wanton violations of financial management laws.
The Party said it has presented the names of legal practitioners to the presidency to provide legal support to the president’s fight against systematic corruption.
Presenting a statement to the Head of the LACC, UP 1st Vice Chair, Senator Dabah Varpilah said:” Our expertise will be invaluable in ensuring the effective prosecution of corruption-related offenses.
Meanwhile, the UP has called on all institutions and individuals responsible for supporting the President’s anti-corruption measures to do so with utmost dedication and commitment.
