MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti has emphasized the transformative power of gender-inclusive policies.

Minister Nyanti stressed the importance of women’s full participation in governance and the decision-making processes.

The Chief Liberian Diplomat made the statement recently in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, when Liberia hosted its first high-level side event on Feminist Foreign Policies (FFP).

A Foreign Ministry Release said the event, titled: “Gender Equality in Foreign Policies: Relevance of Feminist Foreign Policies in Africa,” underscored Liberia’s commitment to integrating gender equality into its foreign policy.

The gathering brought together government officials, civil society leaders, development partners, and feminist advocates, to explore the role of feminist principles in promoting governance, peace, and socio-economic development across Africa.

Meanwhile, Representatives from the African Union and UN Women commended Liberia’s leadership, noting the significance of gender-responsive foreign policies in achieving Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 on gender equality.
