Liberia’s former Finance Minister Samuel Tweah and four others’ economic sabotage case hearing is expected to commence on February 24, 2025, at Criminal Court ‘C’ at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
The decision was reached on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, after a pre-trial conference between the Prosecution and Defense Lawyers before the Presiding Judge, Roosevelt Willie.
Montserrado County Attorney Richard Scott said:” The pre-trial conference was intended to conclude the final selection of jury who will listen to the merits of the case to decide the fate of the accused.”
The pre-trial conference was held in the absence of Defense Lead Lawyer Cllr—Arthur Johnson, who has reportedly taken an assignment at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Former Finance Minister Tweah and others were indicted in 2024, and pleaded not guilty to the indictment in December of the same year, for allegedly stealing over six million US dollars from the Government of Liberia during the regime of former President George Weah.
