MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia National Red Cross Society Head of Program, Christopher Johnson, says sector engagements are vital in disaster management.
Mr. Johnson said:” This is why the involvement of relevant sectors across the various ministries and agencies of the government is significant to address disaster issues.”
He disclosed that disaster management requires the involvement of everybody ranging from government entities to community residents.
Mr. Johnson spoke Tuesday in Monrovia at the close of a two–day National Level Training on Preparedness and Response.
The Liberia National Red Cross Society Head of Program indicated that the Training is part of pillar four of the Early Warning for All Initiative.
In a related development, the NDMA Director for Emergency Response Recovery, Augustine Kollie, has stressed the need for coordination in addressing disasters across Liberia.
Mr. Kollie said through coordination, the issue of fragmentation in response to disaster incidents will be properly handled.
He said with this a clear line will be drawn to enable what ministries and agencies will be doing including partners.
