MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The European Union Delegation to Liberia, over the weekend, ended an inspection visit to Kakata, Margibi County.

The visit is aimed at inspecting EU-supported projects and having national engagements with institutional heads in the county.

During the meeting, Margibi County Service Center Coordinator Richard Jah highlighted the progress and challenges made last year.

Mr. Jah also disclosed that the revenue generated in 2024 was over four million Liberian Dollars and thirty-six thousand US Dollars, which was transferred to the Liberia Government’s account.

He urged the EU and donors to provide logistical support and conduct workshops for local county authorities across the country to develop skills for the job market.

Meanwhile, EU Representative to Liberia Erica Gettersen said:” The visit will enhance our understanding of projects undertaken and how to improve on the challenges soon.”

The EU team’s visit covered key areas, including the Kakata Central Prison, Booker Washington Institute, Margibi County local Administration, Sonkay Town Vocational and Heritage Center, and the Margibi County Service Center.

The EU highlighted the organization’s immense contributions to the country and pledged its full support to modernize challenging areas that were observed during the visit.

It noted that when these issues are addressed, it will buttress the government’s ARREST AGENDA and promote the workings of the local government in Margibi County.
