MONROVIA, LIBERIA-ArcelorMittal-Liberia has put the total cost of its phase two expansion project in Liberia to two billion US Dollars.
The Company said it has already invested about three-point-five billion US Dollars over the last twenty years.
ArcelorMittal-Liberia CEO, Michiel Van Der Merwe said:” Phase Two will mainly consider building a new concentrator, robust rail safety management, and expanding the Nimba and Grand Bassa facilities.
Mr. Van Der Merwe said job creation and building solid relationships with the affected communities are also being highly considered in phase two of the Company’s expansion project.
Describing 2025 as a year of Liberia, the ArcelorMittal-Liberia CEO stated that the Company is hoping to increase its exploration from five million tons per annum to fifteen million tons per annum.
