MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Office of the Ombudsman and the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) have officially entered into a framework memorandum of understanding.
The agreement is solely intended to raise public awareness through media engagement about the workings and operations of the Office of the Ombudsman.
As per the agreement, LBS will provide the platform for radio talk shows, public service announcements, television scrolling, and hiring job advertisements, among others.
Signing on behalf of the Office of the Ombudsman, the Chairman, Cllr. Finley Karnga thanked the Management of LBS and called for more bilateral relationships between the two entities.
Meanwhile, LBS Director General Eugene Fahngon, assured LBS’s commitment to the document signed, noting that it is LBS’s sole responsibility to provide a platform that will inform the Liberian people.
Director Fahngon wants the Office of the Ombudsman to remain open to the State Broadcaster at all times on issues that are worth reporting about public officials who may violate work ethics.
The Office of the Ombudsman is the Liberian Government’s arm which has the right to carry out investigation of the Code of Conduct at ministries and agencies of the Government.
The signing ceremony took place on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Liberia Broadcasting System in Paynesville.
