Liberia Medical and Dental Council Shuts Down Lofa Medical Services Clinic in Monrovia

by Administrator

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC), in collaboration with the Justice Ministry, has shut down the Lofa Medic Services Clinic in Neezoe, Jacob Town.

The clinic’s closure followed serious allegations of medical malpractice linked to the tragic death of 30-year-old Samuel Kollie.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the LMDC revealed that the clinic’s administrator, Sam Wolobah, misrepresented himself as a licensed medical doctor, despite holding qualifications only as an Operating Room Technician.

Mr. Wolobah allegedly performed surgical procedures that ultimately led to Kollie’s fatal outcome, raising significant concerns about patients’ safety and the qualifications of healthcare providers.

The LMDC ordered the clinic to cease operations immediately on Monday, March 25, 2025, and Wolobah has been handed over to the Liberia National Police (LNP) for further criminal investigation.

In a release, the LMDC lauded the support provided by the Justice Ministry’s Public Safety Department throughout the investigation process.

The institution emphasized its ongoing commitment to eliminating unqualified practitioners from the healthcare system and ensuring that quality medical services are available to all Liberians.
