Liberia’s Finance Ministry Places Employee Sorsor on Compulsory Administrative Leave…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Finance Ministry has placed its employee, Massayan Sorsor, on Compulsory Administrative Leave and forwarded him to the Office of the Ombudsman for Investigation.

In a disturbing video that went viral recently on social media, Mr. Sorsor can be seen brutally assaulting an elderly man at an unidentified location.

In a release, the Ministry said:” The action by Mr. Sorsor contravenes Section 4.3 of the Code of Conduct, which states that “All public officials and employees of government shall exhibit good conduct at all times, both at work and off-duty”.

Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry has forwarded Massayan Sorsor to the Office of the Ombudsman, authorized by law, to investigate allegations of breaches of the Code of Conduct and determine appropriate sanctions and penalties, where necessary.

The Ministry emphasized that all officials and employees are expected to demonstrate good conduct both at work and off duty.
