Armed Forces of Liberia Ends “Operation True Guardian” in Grand Cape Mount County

GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) says its special Unit sent on “Operation True Guardian” has ended its mission in Grand Cape Mount County, and has since crossed over to Bomi County.

“Operation True Guardian” is a strategic plan for a nationwide quarterly patrol developed by the AFL, which comes as Liberia faces significant security challenges.

The purpose of the patrol was to dominate and be robust in those areas in order to deter threats and provide security, as well as build confidence among the locals.

During the patrol, the AFL also observed that there were mining activities in the Mafa River, a mining camp using an excavator, among others.

The “Operation” further aims at clearly projecting the AFL’s preparedness to safeguard Liberia’s national borders, deter transnational organized and maritime crimes, and maintain internal security, while fostering cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
