MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has secured the commitment of the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development to mobilize financing for the 114km of Salayea to Voinjama road project.

The commitment followed a high-level meeting held between the Acting Executive Director General of the Kuwaiti Fund, Waleed Al-Bahar, and delegates from the Liberian Government.

According to a release, such commitment by the group now paves the way towards resource mobilization for the Salayea to Voinjama leg of the Highway project.

The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development will partner with the Saudi Fund for Development, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, and the OPEC Fund for International Development, among others, to implement the project.

Members of the high-powered Liberian delegation at the meeting include Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan, Public Works Minister Roland Giddings, and NPA Managing Director Sekou Dukuly.

At the same time, a high-level meeting of Ministers and Heads of agencies and commissions is expected to take place in Monrovia later today.

The meeting, among other things, is intended to strategize on the formulation of the 2025 Performance Target Setting Process in line with the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

According to the Director General of the Cabinet, Nathaniel Kwabo, the gathering is key to working with heads of various ministries and agencies in setting specific targets that are essential for ensuring compliance.

Director Kwabo said that through the Performance Target Setting Process, the government aims to foster coordination and collaboration with all Ministries and Agencies in accelerating national growth.

Meanwhile, trainings are expected to be conducted subsequently for Deputy Ministers and PMCS Focal persons in the coming days.
