MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Road Fund of Liberia says the entity is gradually transitioning its operations from a “First generation model” to a “Second generation road fund”.
The latest transition is aimed at enhancing the productivity of the entity’s operations by lowering the high level of government intervention in its operations.
NRF Manager, Madam Joseta Neufville-Wento, told the Super Morning Show on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, that government full intervention is greatly hampering the improvement of the entity, especially in spending and managing funds to road contractors.
According to her, already the Chief Executive officers for Road Maintenance Fund Administration, Mohammed Kallon, of Sierra Leone, and Ali Ipinge, of Namibia, are in the Country to innovate positive approaches for the transition.
The changeover will now give the NFA all rights to function as an independent institution in managing all road funds for road users in Liberia.
