MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A Non-Governmental Organization, Tears Mother International, has launched a 1.4 million US dollar water project in Bomi County to benefit residents of the region.

Speaking at the launch of the project in Congo town on Tuesday, Tears Mother International Executive Director, Mustapha Mao-Rogers, said the project, which begins this year, is intended to strengthen communities through sustainable water.

Mr. Rogers said the program will run for the next five years, with Bomi County being the first, due to its need for a quality water supply.

He thanked the management of the ‘Good Water Corridors Africa’ program and ‘Carbon Zero’ for providing funding for the project implementation.

Meanwhile, residents of Bomi County, through their superintendent, Miatta Esther Dorley, lauded the efforts of ‘Tears Mother International’ for prioritizing them in the first phase of the program.

The Bomi County superintendent, at the same time, called on the organization to extend the program to other counties.
