MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Agriculture Sector is set to experience massive improvement based on recent commitments made by the People’s Republic of China to support the sector.
The Chinese Government said it will begin providing additional support to Liberia to address critical areas of the country’s Agriculture Sector.
The Mayor of Shenzhen, Qin Weizhong, said:” China stands ready to do all it can to assist Liberia in improving the Agriculture Division of the country.”
Mr. Weizhong made the statement recently when he made a symbolic presentation of an electric leafy vegetables seeder to the Agriculture Ministry.
The mayor believes that such an endeavor will improve income and revenue generation for the advancement of Liberia.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Dr. Alexander Nuetah has reaffirmed the Liberian Government’s determination to improve rice production before 2029.
He said such commitment is backed by support from partners, including the People’s Republic of China.
It can be recalled that on Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Chinese Government, through the Mayor of Shenzhen, made a symbolic presentation of an electric leafy vegetable seeder to the Agriculture Ministry, signifying China’s commitment to Liberia’s Agriculture Sector.
According to Minister Nuetah, the equipment will go a long way in helping the ministry to grow more food for Liberians when it arrives.
Minister Alexander Nuetah said,” This will adequately empower the agriculture ministry to extend to local farmers in Liberia.
