MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia will, tomorrow, Friday, April 25, 2025, join other countries to commemorate World Malaria Day and the launch of the End Malaria Council.
Dr. Yatta Wapoe, Deputy Program Manager for the National Malaria Control Program, said:” The End Malaria Council, as proposed by the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, is in line with the program’s strategy to eliminate malaria in Liberia.”
Dr. Wapoe said the day will also serve as a fundraiser to mobilize internal resources to add to donors’ support for the sustenance of the program to end malaria in Liberia.
The Deputy Malaria Control Program Manager further stated that the day will begin with a parade from the Ministry of Health to the Ministerial Complex, where an indoor program will be held.
She added that the Ambassador of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance from Botswana, including other key health stakeholders, civil society groups, and citizens, are expected to grace the occasion
The World Malaria Day will be celebrated under the theme: “Re-imaging, Reinvest and Reignite”.
