MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Ambassador to Belgium with accreditation to the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and the European Union (EU), Levi Demmah, has presented a copy of his Letter of Credence to the Head of Protocol of the Belgian Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs, Pierre Cartuyvels.

The event marks the commencement of his diplomatic mission in Belgium and the broader Benelux region.

“This is the first process in line with diplomatic protocol and practice–with no delay, we hit the ground running two days after our arrival,” Amb. Demmah said.

The ceremony aims at paving the way for the official presentation of his Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Philippe of the Kingdom of Belgium.

The engagement with the Head of Protocol of the Belgian Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs signifies Liberia’s commitment to strengthening its bilateral relations with Belgium and the EU.

During the official meeting, Ambassador Demmah extended greetings, on behalf of His Excellency, President Joseph Boakai, President of Liberia, to King Philippe and commended the Government and people of the Kingdom of Belgium for their support to Liberia over the years.

He noted that Liberians cherished the enormous support of Belgium and will forever be remembered.

Ambassador Demmah expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to serve and build deeper diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties.

In remarks, the Head of Protocol, Ambassador Cartuyvels, warmly welcomed the Liberian diplomat and assured him of Belgium’s readiness to continue fostering strong bilateral cooperation with Liberia.

The Liberian Diploma was accompanied by Chargés d’Affaires, Senve Darlington Tehmeh.

Ambassador Levi Demmah now replaces Ambassador Isaac Nyenabo, who served in the position from 2015 to 2025.
