GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Internal Affairs has finally resolved the existing land conflict among citizens of the affected communities of the Grebo-Krahn National Park and the Forestry Development Authority (FDA) in Grand Gedeh County.
Our Correspondent said the resolution of the land conflict followed several days of mediation efforts initiated by the local authorities of the county and the national Government.
According to our correspondent, citizens of the affected Communities of the Grebo-Krahn National Park have accused the FDA and Wild Chimpanzee Foundation of failing to live up to the MOU signed several years ago.
Our Correspondent said in the MoU, Wild Chimpanzee Foundation, through the FDA, was expected to rehabilitate feeder roads and provide educational support to residents in the affected areas, which the parties failed to implement.
This action, our correspondent said, allegedly triggered residents to obstruct the normal operations of the accused parties until their demands are addressed.
