MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Christ Embassy Church, through the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI), has officially commissioned a new school for vulnerable children in Kangkang Town Estate, Baptist Seminary Community.
Speaking during the commissioning program on Tuesday, April 28, 2025, former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf said the provision of quality education for Liberian children is critical to national growth and development.
Madam Johnson-Sirleaf said, “The commissioning of a free school is not just an extension of the church’s mission; it is a representation of a bold step beyond the pulpit.”
She commended Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for helping to address the critical needs of the future leaders of Liberia through education.
Also making a remark, the Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister, Gbermie Horace-Kollie, lauded the project as a critical intervention in the Education Sector.
Minister Horace-Kollie indicated that the project aligns with the Liberian Government’s effort to enroll over one thousand three hundred street children in school.
The school is providing tuition-free, uniforms, feeding, and computer studies for less privileged children from kindergarten to the sixth grade.
Christ Embassy Regional Pastor for East, West, and Central Africa, Ambrose Isesele, reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to global educational outreach.
Pastor Isesele indicated that the project is in eighteen African countries and is intended to provide quality education for vulnerable children.
At the same time, the Director of Inner-City Mission for Children, Pastor Omoh Alabi, described the school as a manifestation of God’s love and a beacon of hope for the Kangkang Town children.
Pastor Alabi urged the community to take ownership of the school to attain the needed change for the children.
