Gov. of Liberia Organizes Nat’l Fundraising in Support of Its Bid for A Non-Permanent Seat…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government is organizing a national fundraising event in support of Liberia’s campaign for a nonpermanent seat on the UN Security Council.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025, is expected to be officially hosted by President Joseph Boakai at the Executive Pavilion in Monrovia.

The Senior Political Advisor to the President, MacDella Cooper, said:” A successful bid will elevate Liberia’s global profile and position the country as a key voice in shaping international peace and security in the world’s highest governing body.”

Speaking at the MICAT Regular Press Briefing on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in Monrovia, Madam Cooper reiterated that Liberia’s Security Council effort requires broad-based support, and as such, every Liberian can play a vital role in the process.

Liberia’s campaign for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council, which continues to garner significant backing, is being spearheaded by the Foreign Ministry under the leadership of Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti.
