MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) has overwhelmingly voted to affirm the April 29, 2025, statement issued by the National President of the Bar, Cllr. Bornor Varmah.
The NEC of the LNBA comprises presidents of the Bar Association of the fifteen counties, and national elected officials of the LNBA.
The statement, which speaks clearly to matters of national concern, judicial independence, and the protection of democratic institutions, reflects the values and foundational principles of the LNBA as a defender of justice and advocate for the rule of law.
The NEC recognizes that the statement has provoked critical dialogues across all sectors of society, which is indicative of a robust democracy of the nation, and has reaffirmed its support for the leadership of the Bar Association, headed by Cllr. Varmah.
Cllr. Varmah, who is the constitutionally mandated spokesperson, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the National Executive Council, says they remain resolute in their statutory and moral responsibility to speak truth to power and to defend the interests of the Liberian people through principled advocacy and responsible leadership.
