MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Cllr. Fonati Koffa has dismissed social media reports suggesting that he has resigned from the Speakership position of the House of Representatives.
Cllr. Koffa said:” While I am deeply touched by the outpouring of concern for my well-being and the integrity of the office I hold, I wish to address these matters with clarity and transparency.”
He disclosed that he is actively engaging with stakeholders across the country, including his colleagues from all sides of the National Legislature, regarding his transition from the position and to determine the appropriate path forward.
According to him, the laws of Liberia must serve as the ultimate foundation for resolving disputes, including the current impasse within the National Legislature.
Cllr. Koffa noted that the Supreme Court’s recent ruling has definitively resolved this matter, and he fully respects and upholds its decision.
Cllr. Fonati Koffa then urged citizens to refrain from amplifying unsubstantiated claims that risk fostering unnecessary confusion or division.
