MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah has clarified that the Liberian Government is not in any tussle with Burkina Faso as being spewed by the opposition.
Minister Piah has warned those involved in negative propaganda to desist, adding that the government will not succumb to what it described as cheap politics.
The information minister said:” A diplomatic team led by Liberia’s Foreign Minister, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, is in Burkina Faso, having bilateral conversations that will push both Countries forward.”
He said while the government is striving to secure a seat on the UN Security Council, some people are bent on seeing the Country move backward, something he says is impossible under this administration.
Meanwhile, Minister Piah revealed that the National Transit Authority (NTA) is expected to embark on the procurement of 55 buses and 5 cargo trucks to boost public transport in the country.
At the Ministry’s Press briefing on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Information Minister Piah said the purchase of the vehicles will ease some transportation constraints.
