MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Lottery Authority (LTA) has boasted of significant progress, amid some challenges faced with gaming entities across the Country.
The entity’s Deputy Director General, Christian Cooper, said:” The entity is immensely generating revenue for the government, and paying the fees for disabled students across the Country, amongst others.”
Mr. Cooper named the Universities of Liberia, Nimba, Lofa, and the Bomi Community College as some of the tertiary institutions’ students are being sponsored.
He, at the same time, disclosed that currently there are about eighteen tax-paying gaming entities across the country.
Mr. Cooper disclosed at the MICAT Press Briefing on Tuesday in Monrovia.
The National Lottery Authority is a governmental arm responsible for regulating gaming institutions in the country, generating revenue, and ensuring that the revenue generated is used for social development.
