US Embassy in Monrovia Welcomes Arrest Announcement Made by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States Embassy in Monrovia says it welcomed the recent announcement from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement regarding the arrest of Eric Sumo.

Eric Sumo, age fifty-one, was arrested on April 21, along with two others, during routine daily operations in Northern Virginia, the United States.

He was declared wanted in Liberia for document fraud, including fraudulent possession and manufacturing of U.S. visas.

According to the U.S. Embassy, the action was taken under Liberia Interpol Diffusion, underscoring the strong international cooperation between law enforcement partners.

The US Embassy appreciated the Liberia National Police (LNP) and the Justice Ministry for their critical support and cooperation.

The Embassy described the efforts of the two institutions as vital to protecting the integrity of Liberia’s identity documents and safeguarding the rule of law.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia says it looks forward to continuing collaboration with the Police and Justice Ministry to ensure accountability and uphold the security of both nations.
