Gov. of Liberia Ends Solarization of Eight Health Centers Nationwide

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government, through the Rural Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Health, has completed the solarization of eighty-eight health centers across Liberia.

Disclosing on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the MICAT Regular Press Briefing in Monrovia, Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, said:” The first phase of the project was funded by the Japanese Government.”

According to Minister Sando, the project is intended to improve healthcare delivery by creating access to electricity not only to health centers, but to rural cities as well.

At the same time, Minister Sando has reiterated the Finance Ministry’s plans to work with key sectors of the economy for the implementation of the national plan and budget.

He named the Public Works Ministry, national infrastructure programs, agriculture, food productivity, security, and health, among others, as focus areas.

The Deputy Information Boss said,” Critical and underlying causes of financial delays will be uncovered, thereby establishing a joint sectoral committee to enhance coordination to accelerate national development.”

Minister Daniel Sando also disclosed that the finance minister has begun meeting with various implementers of the country’s national development plan as part of the initiatives.
