MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Circuit Courts across Liberia are set to open for the May Term of Court today, Monday, May 12, 2025, consistent with Chapter Three, Section Three-Point Eight of the Judicial Law of Liberia.
The law states that Circuit Courts shall open their quarter sessions on the Second Monday of February, May, August, and November each year for legal business.
It further states that quarter sessions of these circuits shall be entitled to the February, May, and November sessions.
Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyeneh Yuoh has since released her May Term assignments for Circuit Court Judges with duties affecting Criminal Courts B, C, and D, as well as the 2nd, 4th, 11th, 14th, and 15th Judicial Circuits, respectively.
Judge Ciapha Carey leaves the 13th Judicial for Criminal Court ‘B’, while Judge Kennedy Peabody heads for Criminal Court ‘D’, Judge Joe Barkon goes to Criminal Court ‘C’, and Blamo Dixon surfaces at the 2nd Judicial Court in Grand Bassa County.
The 14th Judicial Circuit Resident, Judge Onesimus Banwon, goes to the 15th Judicial Circuit in River Gee County, while Judge Wesseh A. Wesseh leaves for River Cess County.
Judge Nelson Chinneh goes to the 11th Judicial Circuit while Nelson Tokpah returns to the 4th Judicial in Maryland County.
Judges Nancy Sammie, Ousman Feika, Peter Gbeleweleh, and Rooselvelt Willie were retained at their various Circuits by the Chief Justice.
The rotation of judges by the Chief Justice is consistent, consistent with Chapter Three, Section Three-Point Nine of the Judicial Law of Liberia.
