MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Justice wants community leaders to serve as ambassadors of the Liberian government in creating awareness on the danger of mob justice throughout the country.

The Special Assistant to the Minister of Justice, Siaffa Kemokai, said:” The Police force and other joint security officers cannot be deployed everywhere in the country, and as such, community leaders must serve as the government’s agents.”

Attorney Kemokai appealed when he spoke on behalf of Justice Minister Oswald Tweh at the lecture forum organized by the National Polit Bureau of Liberia in Clara Town, over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Anti-Mob Justice Project at the Ministry of Justice, Attorney Abigail Gbessige, said:” Feasibility studies conducted have shown that mob justice occurs mainly in communities predominantly occupied by low-income earners.”
