MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has begun the task of repairing the rupture on the 36-inch pipe that supplies water to Monrovia and its environs.
Speaking during a tour, LWSC Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services, Patrick Sandikie, disclosed that the rupture on the pipe is located under the train tracks, and as such, a communication has been sent to the Ministry of Transport for permission to cut the tracks.
He assured the public that the LWSC will be supplying water by other means, using the 16-inch pipe supplying the Bushrod Island and Paynesville City.
According to Mr. Sandikie, the repair exercise might take a couple of weeks, and as soon as the repair is completed, the regular water supply will resume.
