MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives’ Press Bureau says the installation of iron gates at the Capitol Building is intended to secure state property.
The House’s Director of Press, Robert Haynes, said:” The decision was reached after the Chamber of the House of Representatives was vandalized last year.”
Mr. Haynes told reporters that Closed-Circuit Televisions (CCTV) are currently being installed at the House of Representatives to tighten security surveillance.
He said the move is intended to safeguard the wing of the House of Representatives against the recurrence of last year’s vandalism that took place at the Capitol.
Meanwhile, members of the 55th National Legislature are expected to return to work this Tuesday, May 13.
