MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Police Inspector General, Col. Gregory Coleman, has called for calm and dialogue amidst the threat of a go-slow action by some commercial drivers in the Country.
The drivers, under the National Transport Union of Liberia, had complained of excessive ticketing by the Police and an increased number of police checkpoints at major highways.
In an interview on the Super Morning Show on Monday, May 12, 2025, Col. Coleman acknowledged the drivers’ concerns and confirmed a meeting with the leadership of the Transport Union.
The Police Inspector General said:” While it is the right of citizens to stage go-slow or protest, such action must be carried out without hindrance to the movement of other citizens.”
According to Col. Gregory Colman, the meeting with the leadership of the National Transport Union of Liberia will address the concerns of the drivers and find an amicable solution to the problem.
