CROZERVILLE, RURAL MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has admonished Liberians to uphold higher standards of patriotism and unity in building a country envisioned by all.
President Boakai said:” Demonstrating love for one’s country through unity and social cohesion is the surest way to embrace development and national growth.”
Making remarks at the 160th Anniversary celebrations in honor of the founding of Crozerville Township over the weekend in Rural Montserrado County, the Liberian Chief Executive called on citizens to continue to hold together in the interest of national development, regardless of individual or political differences.
According to President Boakai, the advancement of Liberia rests on the shoulders of every citizen, and as such, it is time that Liberians join efforts in achieving such goals.
He lauded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other stakeholders for collaboratively working together in planning and the execution of programs in observance of the 160th Anniversary of the founding of Crozerville.
Meanwhile, President Dame Sandra-Mason of Barbados has called for enhanced collaboration and partnership between Liberia and Barbados in preserving the shared history of both nations.
President Mason also said,” It is important that people exchange programs to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Liberia and Barbados.”
She expressed her deepest appreciation to the government and people of Liberia for accepting hundreds of Barbadians to settle in Liberia following the abolition of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
President Mason said:” This act of love demonstrated by Liberians centuries ago will continue to be remembered in the history of all Barbadians forever.
