Liberia Dujar University College Confers Asso. of Acts Degrees of Nursing

by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Dujar University College has conferred Associate degrees (AA) in nursing to more than thirty-three graduates.

The conferment of degrees followed over three years of academic studies at the college.

Serving as a guest at the occasion, Bishop Nimely Doryen of the Independent Catholic Church of Liberia challenged the graduates to press forward in charting a new direction for their career path.

Bishop Doryen urged them to keep striving for excellence with the ultimate desire to serve humanity.

He underscored the important role of nurses in saving lives for the good of humanity.

The Liberian clergyman reminded graduates that nursing is not merely a profession, but a calling—one that demands both compassion and steadfast commitment to duty.

At the same time, the President of the Liberia Dujar University College, Nathan Mahteh, has decried the lack of funding support to the college.

Rev. Mahteh said,” Lack of funding support is hugely undermining the effective operations of the institution.”

He maintained that, despite the college being in the budget, it barely gets the required money as stipulated.

He wants the government to make a budgetary allotment for the smooth operations of the College.

The Dujar University President said due to lack of funding support currently, the college has since shut down all TVET related programs.

Rev. Mahten maintained that the University College is in need of urgent financial and technical assistance from the government and development partners, as the fees collected cannot ensure the smooth running of the college.

The Dujar University College President spoke on Wednesday, May 15, 2025, when the institution graduated thirty-three students in Nursing and health sciences in Bandersville.
