Liberian Gov., EU Sign USD 70 Million Financing Agreement

MONROVIA, The Liberian Government and the European Union (EU) have signed a financing agreement of 70 m) million US Dollars as direct support to the country’s national budget.

The agreement, according to the EU Ambassador, Nona Deprez, is the EU’s way of contributing to the overall national development drive of the country and strengthening financial stability.

Ambassador Nona said:” The EU stands ready to support Liberia’s development drive, hoping that the agreement will be used to consume some portion of the government’s national development plans.”

Making remarks, Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan, on behalf of the government, thanked the EU, highlighting their immense efforts made towards Liberia’s forward march.

According to Minister Ngafuan, the money will go towards programs, specifically to deliver the government’s agenda, as promised.

Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan committed that the finance ministry will rally stakeholders’ support to ensure that the gesture is properly utilized.
