MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has pledged the Liberian Government’s support to the National AIDS Commission, amid USAID’s withdrawal of support.
Speaking at the Commission’s annual fundraising dinner, President Boakai committed the government to mobilizing local resources to strengthen the national fight against HIV and AIDS.
He expressed explicit confidence in the Commission’s officials for the level of work done so far.
President Boakai contributed fifty thousand US dollars and donated two pickups to the Commission to enhance its operations.
The Liberian Leader also called on all Liberians to support the Commission’s mission.
The National AIDS Commission’s Annual Fundraising Dinner was hosted under the theme:” Mobilizing Domestic Resources to Strengthen Coordination, Monitoring, and Oversight of Liberia’s HIV Response.”
