Pres. Boakai Holds High-Level Meeting with House of Rep.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has held a high-level coordination meeting with members of the House of Representatives at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

The meeting, geared towards strengthening coordination between the Executive and Legislative branches of the Liberian Government, brought together more than sixty lawmakers on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

According to our reporter, the gathering signaled a renewed spirit of unity and cooperation among elected leaders of the country.

Speaking briefly, Deputy House Speaker Thomas Fallah expressed gratitude to President Boakai for his timely intervention in resolving the recent impasse at the House of Representatives.

Deputy Speaker Fallah said,” The President’s leadership played a key role in restoring order within the legislative body.”

Making remarks, President Boakai commended the lawmakers for their commitment to pushing for the attainment of the government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

President Joseph Boakai assured that the Executive Mansion will continue to work with the National Legislature in championing the needs and aspirations of the Liberian people.

In another development, the House of Representatives has concurred with the Liberian Senate, granting the National Food Assistance Agency an autonomous status.

Plenary’s decision was triggered following recommendations contained in a report from the House’s Committees on Judiciary and Agriculture.

The passage of the Act will ensure food security, reduce poverty, and improve sustainable agriculture in Liberia.

The Act also seeks to improve the management of food accessibility.

Meanwhile, the National Food Assistance Agency has hailed members of the House of Representatives for the concurrence and timely passage of the document.

According to NFAA, the passage marks a transformative step for the Agency in its quest to oversee the implementation of Food Assistance Programs throughout the country.
