UNICEF, Africa CDC Present Laptops to Liberia’s Health Ministry

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-UNICEF, in partnership with the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), has handed over seven laptops to the health ministry under the Strengthening Logistics for Last Mile (SLL) project.

According to a health ministry release issued recently, Deputy Health Minister for Planning, Policy, Monitoring and Evaluation, Malaya Chieyoe, expressed the ministry’s appreciation for the ongoing partnership with UNICEF and the Africa CDC.

Minister Chieyoe stressed that the equipment will enhance data management and operational efficiency within the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI).

The SLL project is funded by the Master-card Foundation and is focused on improving the Last-Mile delivery of vaccines and health supplies.

Additionally, a two-year unlimited internet service is currently being installed at the EPI central office to strengthen communication and data systems.

Dr. Amadou Cisse, UNICEF-Liberia Deputy Representative for Programs, reaffirmed the organization’s steadfast support for Liberia’s immunization agenda, citing the broader scope of the SLL project.

Dr. Cisse said,” The project covers the procurement of three hundred fifty fridge tags, and updates to key EPI data tools.
