MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has passed several bills to create administrative districts and townships in Lofa County.
The districts and townships include Kakazzie, Kpangbalamai, Kakamai Townships, and Zogonyamai Administrative District.
Others are the Act to establish the Lower Worker Administrative District and Tubungaizue Township in the Voinjama Administrative District.
It followed a report from the Liberian Senate Committee on Internal Affairs, Good Governance, and Reconciliation on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The instrument has been forwarded to the House of Representatives for concurrence.
Meanwhile, the Liberian Senate has recently confirmed several nominated officials of the government.
Those confirmed include Liberia’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and South Africa, Henry Fahnbulleh, and George Patten.
The Liberian Senate also confirmed the Assistant Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of National Defense, Oscar Mulbah.
It followed a report from the Senate Committees on Foreign Affairs, Defense, Security, and Veterans Affairs on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
The Committee’s report said the officials possess the requisite qualifications to serve in their positions and, as such, they should be confirmed.
