MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A South Korean investment firm, MakeGroup, is set to undertake one hundred million US Dollars in investment in Liberia, shortly.
MakeGroup also disclosed plans to invest in Agro-processing facilities, including cold storage and refrigerated warehouses, agricultural machinery hubs, and maintenance support.
According to a release from Liberia’s Agriculture Ministry, the disclosure was made on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Monrovia by the Chairman of MakeGroup, James Han.
Mr. Han is in Liberia along with eight other South Koreans to help the government take actionable steps in addressing key areas, including general agriculture and poultry.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Alexander Nuetah has welcomed MakeGroup’s investment opportunity, disclosing that the move aligns with Liberia’s top agricultural priorities.
In a related development, the Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Transport, is set to shortly introduce five commercial aircraft dedicated to domestic travel.
It followed a series of discussions between the Ministry of Transport and MakeGroup, a renowned Korean company.
In a release issued recently, the ministry termed this development as a strategic investment that aims to transform Liberia’s Aviation Sector.
At a high-level meeting in Monrovia, the Chief Executive Officer of MakeGroup expressed the company’s commitment to supporting Liberia’s transport development and growth.
The MakeGroup CEO also pledged the company’s support to enhancing Liberia’s domestic travel through collaborative efforts.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Sirleaf Tyler has assured the Management of MakeGroup of the government’s full support to ensure that the initiative is actualized.
Minister Tyler said, “The partnership between Liberia and the company marks a significant milestone in the country’s journey toward modernizing air and land transportation.
He added that the aviation project signals a new era for Liberia, promising greater accessibility, economic growth, and infrastructural development.
Minister Tyler made the statement during a high-profile meeting with the CEO of MakeGroup in Monrovia.
The Project, when finalized, will improve Liberia’s global aviation standing and facilitate increased economic opportunities.
