MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Board of Nursing and Midwifery has termed as serious risk to lives, the illegal operations of some nursing and midwifery schools in the Country.
According to the Nursing and Midwifery Board, the situation is causing serious embarrassment for students who spend hard-earned money to acquire quality nursing and midwifery education.
The Registrar of the Board, Madam Cecelia Kpangbala-Flomo told ELBC on Thursday, February 24, 2022, that there are twenty-three accredited and recognized nursing and midwifery schools in the Country, nine of which are in Montserrado County.
However, Madam Flomo said:” Despite the illegal operations of some schools, a rigorous process has been in place to insure products of those institutions do not get certified.”
The Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Board hopes that all stakeholders will muster a concerted effort to shut down those illegal schools, to protect the integrity and credibility of the profession.
