MONROVIA, LIBERIA-An ELBC Investigation has revealed that Air France did not announce total pull out from Liberia, as widely rumored.
However, our investigation uncovered that the world class airline notified the Liberian Government of drastic reduction in its daily flights to Liberia.
Instead of daily flight, the airline, according to our reporter who conducted the investigation, told the Liberian Government that its flight to Liberia will be three times a week, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
An email dated February 25, 2022, from Air France to the Liberian Government, copy of which is in the possession of ELBC, says the decision is based on ongoing embargo imposed on Mali.
Diplomatic relationship between France and Liberia has since declined, after France cut ties with the Military Junta, following the ousting of the late President Boubacar Keita two years ago.
This station understands that France does not carry on direct flight from Paris to Monrovia, due to limited passengers; instead, it transits through Bamako before coming to Monrovia.
