MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A group of Sinoe County citizens under the banner Concern Citizens of Sinoe is threatening legal action against the people of Rivercess County, for allegedly encroaching on their land.
According to ELBC Sinoe County Correspondent, the group is claiming that the people of Rivercess County have overstepped the Cestos River boundary.
Our Correspondent also quotes the group as saying following the dialogue led by Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf, the boundary between both counties should be at ITI, but the billboard is still deep into Sinoe County’s territory.
Early this year, a resolution was signed between the people of Sinoe and Rivercess Counties, aimed at ending the longstanding land issue.
Meanwhile, the Technical Focal Person in the Office of Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf, Emmanuel Whenyou, has told ELBC that no land was appointed to Rivercess County, as claimed by the Concerned Sinoe Citizens.
