MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has unanimously voted to resend the Third Arcelor Mittal Mineral Development Agreement to the Executive, for renegotiation.
The Plenary took the decision Monday, March 28, 2022, during a special sitting.
In a motion, Margibi County Representative Ben Fofana said:” Both the House of Representatives and Senate could not resolve complicated issues contained in the agreement.”
Recently, the House of Representatives set up a conference committee, on the request of the Senate, to resolve what it calls complicated issues in the deal.
The Senate and the House of Representatives initially ratified the agreement, but the Senate withheld its concurrence decision with the House.
