MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence faction of Liberty Party (LP) has announced resubmission of what it calls’ correct version’ of the Party’s constitution to the National Elections Commission (NEC).
Addressing a news conference on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in Monrovia, Senator Karnga-Lawrence said:” The latest decision is in keeping with the recent Supreme Court’s mandate.”
She claimed to have communicated with all signatories to the Farmington Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to ensure proper corrections in keeping with the MoU, and signing for resubmission the NEC.
Senator Karnga-Lawrence noted that Musa Bility was not the Chairman of the convention, and could not have signed and submitted the constitution to NEC.
She maintains that Mr. Bility still has no such authority to sign and resubmit, after the alleged alterations are changed to the actual versions.
Copies of the resubmitted version signed LP Convention Chairperson and the General Secretary have, meanwhile, been forwarded to the Supreme Court Justice in Chambers, Jamesetta Wolokollie.
However, the Musa Bility faction of the LP has reportedly resubmitted another ‘corrected version’ of the Party’s constitution to the NEC.
